Who is responsible for your information?
DS Media is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. If you have a question about your information or this policy, email dan@dsmedia.uk.
Information we may receive
When you contact DS Media, we may receive your name, email address, telephone number, business details, the service you are interested in and anything you include in your message.
Our hosting and security providers may also process limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page and the time of your visit, to deliver and protect the website.
How your information is used
- To respond to enquiries and discuss a possible website or video project.
- To prepare quotes, proposals and service information you request.
- To provide and administer services where you become a client.
- To maintain the security and proper operation of this website.
- To meet legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.
We normally use this information because it is necessary to respond to your request, take steps before entering a contract, perform a contract, meet a legal obligation or pursue the legitimate interests of running DS Media. Marketing messages will only be sent where there is a lawful reason to do so, and you can opt out at any time.
Contact forms and email
When you send an enquiry through this website, the details you enter are sent to DS Media by email. Your email provider may also process that message under its own privacy policy. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information through the enquiry form.
Cookies, analytics and embedded video
This website uses necessary browser storage to remember whether you allowed or rejected non-essential services. This preference does not track you and remains on your device until you change it through “Cookie settings” or clear the site data in your browser.
If you choose “Allow”, Google Analytics uses cookies such as _ga to help DS Media understand visits, page use and successful enquiries. Information may include the pages visited, interactions, approximate location, device and browser information, and how you reached the site. The enquiry event contains the selected service only; your name, email address, phone number and message are not sent to Analytics. Google Analytics is completely blocked until you give permission.
The video production page uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, supplied by Google. The player and its connection to YouTube also remain blocked unless you choose “Allow”. If allowed, Google may store or access information on your device to deliver, secure and measure these services. You can withdraw permission at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer; the site will stop Analytics and remove its first-party analytics cookies where possible. Read more in the Google Privacy Policy.
Who information may be shared with
DS Media does not sell your personal information. Information may be handled by trusted providers used for email, website hosting, security, administration or professional advice. It may also be disclosed where required by law. Providers are only given the information needed to perform their role.
How long information is kept
Information is kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, to maintain business records, resolve queries and meet legal or accounting requirements. It is then deleted or securely disposed of.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, object to certain uses, or ask for a portable copy. You may also withdraw consent where consent is being relied on.
To exercise a right, email dan@dsmedia.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website, the services used by DS Media or legal requirements change. The latest version will always appear on this page with its updated date.
